Sorry, haven’t been writing for some time. However I have been busy, busy, busy with different works.

Irish Java Technology Conference is coming here soon. I am not myself a big fan of Java. When I started coding in Java about 7 years ago, I was getting completely insane with NullPointer exceptions. At that time there wasn’t enough documentation and Java was new and buggy. I keep thinking about it that way, thought it probably has gone much better now. I still think that Java is too slow, but you know – it can be used on different platforms so nobody cares.

However if you are Java fanatic, don’t miss the great IJTC event on the January 7th and 8th. Click HERE for more information.

I had the same slowness and null pointer ‘fun’ when I did Java servlets too. And don’t get me started on Tomcat! :D It was the deployment issues due to different server set ups that annoyed me most. It was a few years ago, so I’m sure Java is a lot easier to work with now, but back then, very few hosts offered it and even those that did often didn’t have a clue about getting apps running on their setup! Which left me feeling that Java was great for enterprise, but not for the smaller scale stuff I was at.
